Introduction

JUF Charity Trust is a welfare, non-political and non-profitable, registered organization. Our outset was in 2004 with the establishment of the janat-ul-Firdous Orphanage in Lahore.

In 2005 the earthquake that devastated north Pakistan moved us to divert our attention and resources in aid of the survivors. At the time, JUF Charity Trust send truck loads of food, medicine, blankets and temporary shelter homes for those made homeless by the disaster. However, when other charities left, after the initial stage of emergency relief work was completed, JUF Stayed.

In response to the severe poverty and poor literacy in Balakot, JUF Charity Trust began to build schools in the region, through which we could support students and their poor families. Ever since then, JUF Charity Trust has been working across different dimensions to alleviate poverty and promote literacy among the poor communities of Pakistan.

With sponsorship from other UK charities and even UK schools, as well as generous donations from individual donors, JUF Charity Trust was able to establish 5 schools over the past 5 years. To date we support 30 Orphans children in our Orphanage and a further 800 students across Pakistan.

This Platform has provided us the opportunity to expand the scope of our services to other areas. With education and orphan support aside, our work also include: providing water pumps in poor communities which lack safe drinking water; establishing centre’s for the study of Quran; and aiding poor or orphaned girls and boys with their marriages.

The construction of a second orphanage in Pakistan is currently making good progress, while our education projects continue to grow. With the renovation of our educational institute in Sargodha, JUF Charity Trust will be establishing a skills development centre for poor students. The Centre will provide computer literacy and English language classes, as well as vocational training such as sowing and handicrafts. The aim of this project is to increase the employability of our students and teach them skills they can use to secure a livelihood in the future.

Now JUF Charity Trust is the officially registered NGO, helping little angles. Our success in this short span of time demonstrates our capacity to make an even greater difference in the years to come. But JUF Charity Trust is always in need of new contributions from the wider public. This booklet outlines some of our current projects. If you would like to get involved, please pick up the phone today. With your help, there is no limit to the change we can inspire.
