History

Janat-ul-Firdous Charity Trust Lahore (JUF) is a dream of a lady who intended to contribute for the welfare of children & women after observing their pathetic condition during her visit of her birthplace in Lahore. Mrs. Shamim Mahmood decided to establish an orphanage for young children at Lahore and established a Trust under the name of Janat-ul-Firdous Charity Trust. This platform provided her opportunity to expand scope of her services for the young girls who need help for their marriages, water pumps for drinking water where it is not available, established Quran learning centers. A team of dedicated workers assembled around her who was transformed into an executive body of trust. The 2005 earthquake in northern areas of Pakistan left no option but to divert all attention and resources for providing immediate relief to the earthquake stricken people. She flew from UK and reached Balakot with trucks loaded of foodstuff, Blankets and distributed among the people. She got prepared shelter homes and provided to homeless people. The dream of Mrs. Shamim Mahmood has now become a reality within a short span of five years as evident from the following projects running successfully under the auspices of JUF:

  • Orphanage in Lahore
  • Institute in Raiwind Lahore
  • Institute in Sargodha
  • Institute in Multan
  • High School in Bissian Balakot, Mansehra
